About Me

From early on music and art had a large impact on how I view and understood the World. As a young girl, I remember sitting in my grandmother's great room as she taught me how to play piano on an 1895 Packard Parlor Grand, while my grandfather methodically collected, repaired, and resold high-end audio equipment he found in the neighborhoods of Metro Detroit. Both retired music teachers, my family is filled with other musicians, teachers, artists, entrepreneurs, and travel lovers. With them, I was exposed to the intersections of music, culture, art, and fashion.

Upon attending college at Michigan State University, my interests shifted toward design as I studied Visual Communication and Photojournalism. I spent the majority of my 20’s developing my User-Design passion, going so far as to establish a User Experience Design methodology and team at the world's largest University based Credit Union, MSU Federal Credit Union. During this time I also explored entrepreneurial activities and teaching Yoga. In 2019, I earned a Master's of Media and Information in Human Centered Design from Michigan State University with a certificate in Serious Game Design; I focused on the efficacy of wellness technology. Recognizing that all design contains inherent bias, my design philosophy roots in empathy and focus on the User. This prioritizes function over form and encourages an effort to delight. My focus in design has always been understanding the audience and communicating story in the simplest, most authentic way possible.

Currently, I work with a talented team of professionals at Leisure Room Productions serving the needs of businesses, artists, and musicians in the areas of: event production, media creation, and professional development. This work honors the creative process to produce experiences and products which enrich client’s livelihoods and promote lasting healing in local communities.
